Introduction

How AnyAnalytics is organized: organizations, projects, write keys, events and people.

AnyAnalytics collects events from your websites, apps, games and servers, and turns them into reports: who your players and visitors are, what they do, where they come from, what they buy and whether they come back. It's hosted for you, so there's nothing to run.

The building blocks

ConceptWhat it is
OrganizationYour team's account. It holds your projects, members and plan. Every account gets one when signing up.
ProjectOne website, app, game or backend. Each project has its own dashboard, settings and write keys.
Write keyThe vxw_… key your code sends events with. It can only send data, never read it, so it's safe to ship inside a website or a game build.
EventSomething that happened, like a pageview, level_completed or purchase_completed, with optional properties.
PersonA player or visitor. Events are tied to an anonymous id until you identify the person with your own user id.
SessionOne continuous visit or play session. It ends after 30 minutes of inactivity.

How it works

  • You add a small SDK or script tag to your project, or call the HTTP API directly.
  • The SDK records events, batches them, keeps them while offline and sends them in the background, so tracking never slows down your site or game.
  • Events show up in Live events within a second, and in your reports right after.
  • Bots, crawlers and your own excluded traffic are filtered out before anything is stored or counted.

What you get

  • An overview per project: visitors or users, sessions, pageviews or screens, bounce rate, session time, revenue, and breakdowns by page, source, country and device. See The dashboard.
  • Insights: trends, funnels, retention and paths, saved to dashboards. See Insights and dashboards.
  • A game report for levels, sessions and crashes. See Game events.
  • Realtime: who's online right now, on a globe, with events streaming in.
